Euphonix's forthcoming events
December 2024 - Charity events
This December Euphonix's chosen charity is Kingston Foodbank. There will be two main events to support this charity, the first will be singing Christmas carols and songs from the stage in Kingston's Christmas Market. This will be a lunchtime event on Wednesday 4 December. The second event is our end of term concert that will be held in the Rose Theatre Café at 11.00 on Wednesday 11 December. This is a ticket free event and we will be asking the audience to give generously in aid of Kingston Foodbank who support people and families and for whom the festive season may not be such a joyous time.
Euphonix will also be supporting the Charity CRISIS by singing Christmas songs and carols under the Clock at London Waterloo Station. This will be on the 5 December and if you are travelling through London Waterloo please stop and listen and give whatever you can.
The other event is taking place on Sunday 8 December at 1.30-2.30 in All Saints Church, Kingston (just off the Market). Every year the Church raises funds for several local charities and Euphonix is pleased to be invited to take part is the event. If you care to take a break from Christmas shopping, please pop into the Church and listen to some Christmas music.
Kingston Foodbank In Action
Background
The Trussell Trust Hunger Report of 2023 concluded that supplying emergency food is not the only answer. We need to do a lot more to support clients and help them become resilient individuals who can contribute to society in various ways.
Kingston Foodbank.
Established in 2011, Kingston Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust national network of Foodbanks. In the past year we provided emergency food to over 11,000 local people. 77 tonnes of food was donated and distributed through 6 local centres across the borough.
Grace Advocacy and CAB Partnership.
Set up last year we now fund two teams based at the Foodbank to provide advice and advocacy, including support for housing crisis, debt consolidation, benefit and job applications etc. The Grace Advocacy Team supported 343 clients in 2023.
Christmas Lunch.
Each December we fund, pack and distribute over 1000 festive hampers to families across South West London. Each hamper contains a frozen turkey, fresh vegetables, festive accompaniments like stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy mix, biscuits, Christmas cake and mince pies. The project mobilises over 200 volunteers to pack and distribute the hampers to families who have been referred to us through front line services and agencies.
